Buyer Protection on Secure Ticket Transfer
Three layers of protection — verified sellers, protected payments, and dispute review — built into every transaction.
Buyer protection is the set of safeguards that ensure you don't lose money if a ticket sale goes wrong. It's automatic on every transaction — no opt-in, no extra fee.
The three layers
Protected payments
Your payment is held by our payment partner, Stripe. The seller does not receive the money until you confirm the tickets were received and work as expected. If the transfer never arrives or the tickets fail, your payment is recoverable. Read protected payments for the mechanics.
Verified sellers
Every seller completes email verification, phone verification, and identity- and payout-verification through Stripe before they can receive protected payments. See verified sellers.
Dispute review
If you and the seller can't resolve an issue, you can open a dispute. Our team reviews the message history, transfer timeline, and uploaded evidence before issuing a decision.
What's covered
- The seller never transfers the tickets.
- The tickets arrive but are invalid at the gate.
- The tickets are materially different from what was listed.
- The seller goes silent after payment.
- The transfer is reversed after delivery.
What's not covered
- Buyer's remorse — changing your mind after receiving valid tickets.
- Event cancellations — handled by the original issuer per their refund policy.
- Off-platform purchases.
- Misreading the listing (wrong section, wrong date, wrong ticket type).
How to use buyer protection
Don't confirm receipt of the tickets until they're actually in your issuer account. Keep all communication inside the transaction room. If something goes wrong, message the seller first; if it can't be resolved, open a dispute from the transaction page.
