Seller Safety Guide

How to Safely Sell Tickets to Someone You Don’t Know

A safe sale gives the seller trusted payment status before delivery and gives the buyer a fair chance to verify the transfer before payout release.

Use a transaction that records the terms, verifies the buyer’s account, confirms payment server-side, and preserves issuer transfer evidence. Never send tickets because a buyer shows you a payment screenshot, and never ask the buyer to confirm before delivery.

Prepare before inviting the buyer

  • Confirm the tickets are transferable and note any issuer delivery delay.
  • State the exact event, date, section, row, quantity, and price.
  • Complete Stripe-powered seller payout onboarding before the buyer pays.
  • Use the buyer’s verified email for the issuer transfer.

Do not confuse payment status with payout

A trusted paid status means the buyer payment is in the controlled transaction workflow. It does not mean seller funds are immediately available. Seller release requires delivery, buyer confirmation or a trusted audited delivery decision, the protection hold, no blocking dispute or refund, and the other server-side release checks.

Build a clean delivery record

  1. Transfer through the original issuer.
  2. Upload permitted issuer confirmation evidence to the private transaction record.
  3. Mark tickets sent only after initiating the real issuer transfer.
  4. Keep buyer communication inside the transaction.
  5. Wait for buyer confirmation; do not pressure the buyer to confirm early.

If the buyer does not respond

Buyer silence does not trigger automatic payout. After the trusted response deadline, the seller can request STT review. STT can examine the transfer evidence, terms, identities, and timeline and make an audited delivery decision. Even a confirmed administrative decision does not bypass the existing protection hold, disputes, payout readiness, or other release controls.

If there is a dispute or chargeback

A dispute freezes payout while the transaction is reviewed. Transaction messages, issuer transfer evidence, and server-owned timestamps help STT and payment processors assess the record. Evidence improves the seller’s position, but no platform can promise that every dispute or chargeback will be decided in the seller’s favour.
